Happy Dashain to all our Malvern International students and the wider UEL ISC community celebrating!
Today, we come together to celebrate Dashain, a vibrant Hindu religious festival of victory and renewal, which is one of the biggest festivals in Nepal. It marks the triumph of good over evil and it is a time for family reunions, honouring ancestors, and blessings for health and prosperity.
Dashain is celebrated with great joy and devotion, involving prayers, rituals, and the exchange of tika (a mixture of yoghurt, rice, and vermilion) and Jamara (barley grass) to symbolise blessings for a prosperous future. It is a time to reflect on personal growth, embrace new beginnings, and foster connections with loved ones.

At UEL ISC, we’ve embraced the spirit of Dashain, celebrating the festival with our incredible students, creating a space for cultural exchange and togetherness. It’s a wonderful opportunity for our community to come together, share stories, and appreciate the diversity that makes our centre so special.
We wish everyone happiness, prosperity, and blessings on this meaningful occasion. Let’s continue to grow and learn together, united by the joy of the Dashain festival. Thank you to all those who contributed to bringing the spirit of Dashain to life here at UEL ISC!
